Thank you to all those that have come in this week for our Reading Cafes. Hopefully, you have found lots of ways to support your child with their reading. 

Today we have really entered into the spirit of the World Cup. Thank you to everyone that has taken part. The children looked great and were proudly supporting their country (and celebrating everyone else's). 

Year 6 are busy with their end of year (and end of school!) activities. Next week we have our ever-popular Enterprise Week and the school is full of Year 6's adverts and promotions.  During Enterprise Week, the school "invest" a small amount in each group's stall or activity.  The children use that to buy any goods and resources and have to budget to make sure they make a profit – the money we invest comes out of that.  The money they raise goes towards their Leavers' Day/Party – in the past this meant bouncy castles and pizza!

We also incorporate this into a whole school money week so that children in KS2 can bring money into school and have a real-world experience of using it.  The Year 6 team have sent out letters explaining which days different year groups can attend Enterprise Week and how much each child should bring in.

This term is going to be busy! We have sports day, achievement awards/assembly, Y6 production, various trips etc.  Dates that we set way back in September can change so please keep an eye on emails and the school calendar. 

We now have the School Street exemption details (blue badge holders) and have sent out an email with a link to the form - please do this asap to avoid any unnecessary tickets.

Firs Farm has been working with the independent charity National Numeracy on an exciting project that encourages children and families to enjoy maths together and develop positive maths conversations at home.

As part of this initiative, children in Years 1 and 3 have started using the Family Maths Scrapbooks, completing a variety of engaging activities with their families. The project is to help build confidence in maths, strengthen home-school partnerships, and demonstrate that maths can be fun, practical, and relevant to everyone.

So far, the scrapbooks have been filled with collages, photographs, drawings, explanations, and examples of maths being used in everyday life. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and creativity shown by both children and parents.  Please some examples below of the work they have produced.

Year 4 had a fabulous time at Tolmers Activity Camp (Cuffley) last week. Although the weather could've been better, they still did all the activities and enjoyed their time together.  Thank you to Miss Price for organising such a great time and all the staff who gave up their evening to spend with Year 4. Please see some of the children's comments and photos below:

At Tolmers we had so much fun and experienced lots of amazing adventures. The first activity we did was rock climbing. I felt very excited as it was my first time doing it. As I got on, I was feeling a bit scared as although there were safety ropes, I felt like I was going to fall. In the end, I was proud of myself because I gave it a try and I nearly made it to the top.

Our second activity was another rock climbing, but this time the wall rotated! It was super hard because it was leaning on one side, so you had to hang on and climb at the same time. I felt successful after I had nailed it!

Next we used air rifles. We went through the instructions and I tried my best but I couldn’t hit any targets. I felt happy for my friends because they had hit it a few times! 😊

After that, we had archery and I hit my target many times. It was fun going through the rules. I felt thrilled because it was my first time.

I had a wonderful evening and I was happy I spent some memorable moments with my friends.

Tolmers was a wonderful experience and there was so much to do! The minute I parked, I was basically dancing with joy. I waved to all of my friends in the car park as I signed in. I was more excited than I had ever been before! The first activity we did was orienteering. It was a bit like a treasure hunt because we had to find letters on trees to form words. I went with Mme Dejonghe, and it was spectacular; after we had finished, we headed back and unpacked. My heart was racing!

We had some time for a break and to get used to our cabins before our next activity, which was air rifles. It was instructed by a man called Will. We had 5 goes each to shoot a target. Sadly, I didn’t hit the target but I was pleased with myself because I tried my best.

My final activity was shelter building. Once we had used all the materials to build a den, the instructor poured water over it to make sure it was built well!

Thank you to everyone that helped on the trip and made it such an amazing time.

Our Year 3 and 4 Summer Concert (just before half-term) was a huge success. It really demonstrated all they had achieved and what a talented bunch they are! We were treated to a range of songs, poems and recorder performances.  Thank you so much to the Year 4 Team for all their hardwork in putting this together.

From September 2026 we have to implement a new PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) and RSHE (relationships, sex and health education) curriculum and policy.

We intend to deliver RSHE via the PSHE curriculum/lessons. Please find out more details about the proposed policy by visiting
