Summer 1 Week 3 4.5.20

Remote Home Learning

Maths Summer 1 Week 3 4.05.20 – Shapes & Angles

Here is an overview of your week of Maths. Please read the work carefully as it clearly states which work you do and do not need to submit. The activity each day should take no longer than 20 minutes and there are useful links at the end of each PowerPoint to support you, including some interactive games.

Each day you will have 10 arithmetic questions to answer in order to keep your fluency skills ticking over. You will find the answers at the end of the work…no cheating!

Monday – Classifying shapes

Today you will be recapping 2d and 3d shapes. Use the poster of the PowerPoint to help you when guessing the shapes. You then have 2 tasks to complete, classifying shapes by their properties using Venn and Carroll diagrams. Should you wish, there are also Mastery and Greater Depth extensions for you to complete.

If you would like to recap Venn and Carroll diagrams, then please log onto Purple Mash where I have set some recap tasks for you. You DO NOT have to do these, it’s just there to support your learning.

Tuesday – Angles in quadrilaterals

Read through the word problems linked to angles. There is a lot of support on these for different quadrilaterals and the angles they contain. Don’t forget to watch the videos on the useful link page if you need to. There are 2 tasks to complete and some mastery extensions, should you want to do these.

Wednesday – Angles in polygons

Quickly recap angles in polygons and have a go at answering the questions. You will need to recall all the information we have learnt the last 2 weeks. There are then some exam style questions to complete. Should you wish, there are also Mastery and Greater Depth extensions for you to complete.

Thursday – Catch up, TTRS and MyMaths (based on this week’s work)

Initially, spend time catching up on your work this week. When you log on to MyMaths there are lots of different activities that have been set. You do not need to complete all of them! They are just a good selection for you to revise and please remember that there is a lesson attached to the activity – use this to help you if you are stuck! Please also spend some time on TTRS challenging yourself and others as your recap your times table and division facts.

Friday – Bank holiday
