Summer 2 Week 2 w/c 8.6.20
Summer 2 Week 2 English Overview
This week, we will be writing a non-fiction report on an artist of your choice. You should do the Reading lesson before attempting the Writing as that will give you some information on an artist.
Reading: ALL CHILDREN TO DO THIS AT HOME
Read about Andy Warhol – a famous artist from America. There is a lot of information to read on him. Once you have done this, you need to answer the questions using full sentences as much as possible. All children need to complete and submit this task at home.
Grammar: CHILDREN RETURNING TO SCHOOL SHOULD NOT DO THIS
This week we are recapping the use of commas, semi colons and dashes. Work through the slides, making sure you understand what they are telling you. You may want to make your own little posters to help remind you which piece of punctuation you should use and where! If you are not returning to school, you should complete this work and submit it.
Writing: CHILDREN RETURNING TO SCHOOL SHOULD NOT DO THIS
Work your way through the slides, using the research given to complete the work or you may choose to research your own artist. Use the slides as a model and plan your writing first – there is an example of this on the slides. Then use your plan to write your report, again, there is an example of this on the slides. Be as creative as you can – include pictures in your work, colour, different fonts and (if you can) turn your report into a zine.
Spellings: ALL CHILDREN TO DO THIS AT HOME
Recap your spellings from last week. Can you spell them correctly? This week’s spellings continue to look at synonyms and antonyms. Work through the PowerPoint and practice your spellings by completing the task. Can you get any of these words into your writing next week?!
