Maths Summer 2 Week 4 22.06.20
As we have now covered all of the maths curriculum as well as revised the different areas, the remainder of the maths lessons will be completing maths activities where you will be applying your mathematical knowledge and skills.
For the sessions this week, the order in which they are completed does not matter therefore you may select which session to do when.
Session 1 – Investigation: Formal Addition and Subtraction of Decimals
This session is a short investigation using the skill of adding and subtracting decimals. The PowerPoint will display the information you need. There are three challenges. You must complete at least one challenge. You may choose to complete more than one challenge and may want to do this over more than one session.
Session 2 – Making a mandala
As you are learning about the Buddhism faith in RE this week, this maths session will be to make a mandala. There will be different skills and knowledge for you to apply to do this including measuring, repeating patterns, reflection and geometric shapes. Follow the steps in the PowerPoint to help you create your own mandala. There are templates and examples of mandalas if you need help with this or more ideas. We can't wait to see your creative ideas- have fun!
Session 3 – Challenge questions
For this session, there are a selection of challenge questions on a PowerPoint. They are easier to begin with and become more challenging as you work through. They are questions from different maths topics and are good to complete as you will be referring back to your mathematical knowledge. There are 7 questions to complete and answers can be found on the last slide. You do not need to submit answers for these. In addition to this, you can still log onto TTRS and MyMaths for additional work.
