Volunteering in School

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES AT FIRS FARM

We are delighted that we are, once again, able to invite parent/carer (or relatives) into to school as volunteer helpers.

Volunteers help in many ways but the main type tend to be:

- Support with individual reading

- General support in class

Volunteering can be from as little as 1 hour a week to a whole afternoon or morning.  All we ask is a commitment to a length of time e.g. for a half term so that we can timetable effectively.

We can offer an initial induction and any relevant training.  A special volunteer DBS check can be purchased for £5 and the school will support your application with this.

If you do not have a DBS you will be unable to support individual or groups of children.  We would be able to offer volunteer work but not work in class/with children and that would be for a time-limited period only.

AUTUMN TERM 2022

Library Project

We have purchased (with thanks to the PTA) a checking in/out system for our library.  We need volunteers to help sticker and register the books.  We believe this should take no more than a few weeks but is obviously dependent on the number of volunteers we have.

Reading volunteers Year 2 and KS2

We need volunteers to read individually and/or with a group of children in Year 2 and in Years 3 to 6.  This is something we are likely to need throughout the year.

Please note if you are requesting a school or college placement (or experience connected with  a qualification/course) please email office@firsfarm.enfield.sch.uk.

To register your interest please fill out the form below (either clicking on the link or QR code).

If you are unable to commit to a regular day/time or our library project there are other ways to get involved including accompanying school trips or supporting theme weeks (such as Art week).  Individual year groups or subject leads will request voluntary support with these on an ad-hoc basis.
