Goodbye to our cherry tree!

We had to cut down our beautiful tree.

As you will have seen, our beautiful cherry tree finally succumbed to various diseases and had to be chopped down. Over Spring Holiday it began leaning even further and there was a real risk it could fall on someone!

Mrs Mahesh tried lots of different avenues to see if we could save it but in the end there was nothing we could do.  We took the opportunity to cut down another tree trunk of a tree that died a while ago.  The small playground is looking a little bare now.

The tree was planted when the school was built so it was 71 years old!

We plan to have the roots removed over the May half term (or during the summer holidays) and we will work with School Council to decide what to do with space.
