Africa Reborn!

Africa Reborn -African storytelling to celebrate Black History Month.

This week, we were delighted to celebrate Black History Month by taking part in a workshop called ‘Africa Reborn’, kindly funded by our wonderful PTA. The children were told 3 stories: Tafari and the Legend of the Talking Drum, Queen Yaa & The War of the Golden Stool and Taiwo & Kehinde; The Kola Nut Twins. Here is some feedback on the day!

“It was amazing! We acted out stories from Africa. There was one about a talking drum, a golden stool and one about a tree. My favourite part was playing a solider in one of the stories.”

“I loved all of it!”

“It was cool, we could interact lots with the stories and act out each one.”

“It was good that we got to learn about African history. I am part African, so I was learning about my culture. It was great!”

“The man telling the stories made it so fun, and it was great to have this in our school.”
