Thank you Sainsbury's Winchmore Hill

A huge thank you to our local Sainsbury's in Winchmore Hill for donating Easter Eggs to Year 1 for our Easter Egg hunt. We had so much fun and really enjoyed filling up our baskets!

Black History Month - Islands of the Caribbean

For Black History Month our school have been exploring the Islands of the Caribbean. In Year 1, we chose to find out about Jamaica. We have learnt about food, music, famous people, culture, famous landmarks, history and facts about the island of Jamaica. We really enjoyed finding out about the colours of the flag and what they mean. We were very lucky to have a visitor from a poet called Samantha Rodgers and thoroughly enjoyed listening to her stories about past students. As a whole school, we all came dressed in colours and traditional clothing to represent the Island we were studying. We hope you enjoy the photos!

Take one Picture: The focus was on the painting 'A Shipwreck in Stormy seas’ by Claude Joseph Vernet. The children had so much fun creating their own version of the ship that was in the storm, They designed it and created a 3d model using clay.
