Our Football took part in a local-authority league during the Autumn Term and... we came top!

Well done to our incredible team and the adults (Mr Biss, Coach Stefan and Miss Constantinou) who support them so well.

Brettenham VS Firs Farm

The first match was a 2-0 win with a goal from Morgan and another from Ibrahim. Fabian, who was on the right wing at the time, slotted a ball through to Morgan who drove at pace and buried it just out of their keeper's reach. Regrettably, one player went for a tackle just on the edge of the box which was called for as a foul. The free kick was preceded by a one-man wall, which Haydn thankfully saved in goal. Immediately afterwards, a volley from Brettenham was deflected by Siyana and Ibrahim drove down the wing at great speed to score in the bottom corner of Brettenham’s goal. In the dying seconds, Brettenham came at us with all their force. Yayhe and Aria, with excellent sprinting to get back, stole the ball of the opponents to everyone’s relief.

Fleecefield VS Firs Farm

During our second match against Fleecefield - based coincidently on Brettenham road - we scored 3 goals and earned another clean sheet. Our first goal came from a ball near our own penalty box. It came from Yayhe, to Haydn, to Orion and then finally to Morgan in the completely opposite area to bag another one. Then we went downwards just slightly. The opposition striker took back the ball in midfield and drove a little bit. He next took an immense shot from basically the half-way line and Fabian pulled off a miraculous save from the 6-yard box through jumping extremely high and tipping it over the bar. Soon afterwards, Yayhe, at right centre back, played a through ball to Orion, who then passed it into the middle, where Zinedine was and released it back again to Haydn. He eventually spun off 3 players to play it off to Morgan and then he turned with his inside to score yet again. Our final goal was finished off by Orion. Ibrahim gradually played the ball all the way across the pitch through multiple players to Orion on the right wing and released a cracker far bottom corner. Mid-match, the ball was sent crossfield from Zinedine to Ibrahim once more. He shortly later delivered a ground cross to Morgan who first time, backheeled a far corner that was bound to go in. Annoyingly their keeper from the back post, to front a cut across and got back down to pull off an amazing, however gutting save.

Well done to Firs Farm for a great tournament, we are looking forward to hearing the final table, but we all enjoyed representing our school. Thank you Mr Biss, Ms Constantinou and Coach Stefan.
