As part of our Spring Learning we went to the British Museum to discover more about the Viking and Anglo-Saxon culture. The children were able to identify artefacts and complete a trail detailing the impact of trade in the two time periods. In addition, they had the opportunity to touch real-life artefacts, some of which were over a thousand years old.

Here are some of the fun activities that Year 5 took part in during the Autumn Term. The whole school had a Get Active day when we challenged ourselves to do 10 minutes of activity throughout the day. Both the teachers and the children took part – making sure we got our heart rates up and tried out a range of exercises. We are trying to keep this going throughout the rest of the term – and beyond!

Towards the end of the term, we had a maths week when we did not write in our books; instead, we applied our mathematical learning in a practical way.
