This year, the Hour of Code theme was taken over by the Hour of AI– to help pupils take their first step into understanding and creating with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Hour of Code November 2025
We celebrated the Hour of Code last week at Firs Farm; children from Reception to Year 6 had the opportunity to take part in interactive and fun Computer Science activities during their Computing lessons. Pupils were able to develop their Computational thinking to create, solve and debug simple programs.
They also had the chance to take part in an unplugged activity involving LEGO, where they had to mimic the tasks of a Machine Learning computer. Whilst EYFS and KS1 created their own AI Robots.
Key stage 2 learnt about the fresh opportunities AI offers for digital expression and creativity.
Here’s what some of the children thought about their Coding lessons.
“I enjoyed the Hour of Code, it was fun.”
“For my coding activity I done Minecraft it was amazing because I had to use a code to escape from a maze.”
“Coding is about how it all works together.”
“AI is very smart”
“I programmed using AI and told it to walk and jump”
It was lovely to see all the children engaged and enjoying their Coding lessons, to continue and support their learning at home, please visit the Hour of Code website to access a variety of activities: https://hourofcode.com/uk/learn
