Junk modelling
From waste to wonder - Firs Farm used junk modelling to encourage recycling.
2022 is a huge milestone in the momentous life of Queen Elizabeth 11, as she marks seventy years on the throne with a Platinum Jubilee. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, the children at Firs Farm explored the beauty of junk modelling as they worked in their year groups to create junk model castles, horse-drawn carriages, crowns and many items suitable for the Queen.
They developed their imagination and creative abilities while challenging themselves to explore, investigate and problem solve as they bring their plans and ideas to life.
Using different types of recycled objects and everyday materials - such as paper, cardboard, empty cereal boxes etc - through a hands-on approach, we brought the idea to life using eco-friendly junk modelling.
